Import your TV Time history into Serivore

TV Time has shut down, but if you requested your data export before it closed, your history doesn't have to be lost. Serivore reads TV Time's export directly and replays your whole history: every episode you watched, with the date you watched it, your rewatches, your episode ratings, your lists and what you wrote along the way. Here's how, step by step.

Before you start

How to import your TV Time history

  1. Save the zip file to your iPhone. Find the zip file from TV Time (in its email, or wherever you kept it) and save it to the Files app on your iPhone.
  2. Uncompress it. In Files, long-press the zip and choose Uncompress. You now have a folder next to the zip: that folder is what Serivore needs.
  3. Open the importer in Serivore. Go to the Account tab, open Settings (the gear), then Import my library.
  4. Select the folder. Tap "TV Time folder (complete export)" and select the uncompressed folder itself, not the zip file and not a file inside it.
  5. Let it run. Serivore reads the files, then imports your shows one by one and syncs them with the server. For a large history (300+ shows), expect 4 to 8 minutes. Keep the app open in the foreground until it finishes.
  6. Check the summary. At the end, Serivore shows what was imported, and lists any show it couldn't find on TheTVDB.

What gets imported

Shows are matched by their TheTVDB ID, the same catalog Serivore uses, so there is no guessing between two shows with the same title.

What isn't imported

Common questions

I can't select the zip file. That's expected: Serivore needs the uncompressed folder. Long-press the zip in Files, choose Uncompress, then select the folder.

Can I run the import again? Yes. It's safe to replay and won't create duplicates. Anything you've already set in Serivore, like a rating or a reaction, is kept.

A show is missing. Check the summary: shows that can't be found on TheTVDB are listed there. You can add them by hand from search if they appear later.

I never requested my TV Time data. Can I still import it? Unfortunately not: TV Time no longer accepts data requests. You can still rebuild your progress quickly by adding your shows and marking a whole season, or everything up to a given episode, as watched in one go.

I'm coming from another app. For apps like Trakt or SIMKL, Serivore also accepts a simple CSV file with show, season, episode and date columns: Settings → Import my library → Simple CSV file. Coming from BetaSeries? See our BetaSeries alternative page.
